Are you interested in Open Education? Do you want to know where you can find quality open educational resources which you can use for your course and teaching? Do you want to know how you can embed open educational resources into your teaching?
THROUGH THIS YOU WILL …
This is a 3-hour workshop aimed at anyone interested in using free online educational resources to enhance their teaching material. During the workshop, the concept of open educational resources (OERs) and how to incorporate them into teaching will be introduced. You will also have the opportunity to search OERs which you can use in teaching through popular OER repositories.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS ALIGNED WITH THE UKPSF:
MAIN AREA OF ACTIVITY - A1 - In this workshop participants will have the chance to find OERs appropriate to integrate into the planning of of a particular module and support peers in finding and evaluating OERs for their contexts.
KEY CORE KNOWLEDGE - K1 , K6 - This focus on work with OERs draws heavily on knowledge appropriate to thediscipline or area in which you work, evaluating their appropriateness for the topic & level of study for which they are to be used (K1), & ensuring compliance with copyright laws (K6).
PROFESSIONAL VALUES - V4 - The evaluation of OERs will incorporate judgement as to their relevance for the professional.
