- I want to know more about the evidence base for good practice in HE Learning & Teaching, for myself, for professional recognition & for the PGCAP.
- I want to understand more about teaching and learning practice in HE, and the relationship between practice and student learning.
THROUGH THIS YOU WILL …
Through 4-6 'book club-style' peer-led workshops over a period of 2-3 months, online or F2F, you will explore the research behind innovations in HE Learning & Teaching. Through debate and discussion with others you will deepen your understanding of why you do the things you do in your own practice, pick up new ideas and approaches and critique alternative perspectives.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS ALIGNED WITH THE UKPSF:
MAIN AREA OF ACTIVITY: A5 - This workshop will contribute directly to your engagement in the scholarship of learning and teaching in HE and with respect to the pedagogy of your field or discipline.
KEY CORE KNOWLEDGE : Various - The coverage of the Core Knowledge will vary according to the topics and literature selected for exploration. However, it may include areas such as discipline-based pedagogy (K1), student learning (K3), the value of learning technologies (K4) & quality issues (K6).
PROFESSIONAL VALUES: V3 - This will build your awareness and understanding of the research underpinning HE learning and teaching practice and help ensure that your own work is evidence-based.
