WHAT STAFF NEED(S) WILL THE WORKSHOP MEET?
- I have asked to be a workplace Mentor and want to develop the skills I need to support my mentee to achieve their goals.
- We are expecting a number of new staff in our department and I would like to become one of their mentors.
THROUGH THIS YOU WILL …
Develop your own mentoring style to help staff identify their development needs, support links with university priorities and directions & promote sustained enhancement through tools to help colleagues achieve their development goals.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS ALIGNED WITH THE UKPSF:
MAIN AREA OF ACTIVITY - A5 - In this workshop you explore skills and strategies to support the work and professional development of others. In turn this will contribute to your own professional development.
KEY CORE KNOWLEDGE - K2, K3 - In this workshop you will develop skills and strategies (K2) and the understanding of learning strategies (K3) to help others identify their goals and make plans to work towards them.
PROFESSIONAL VALUES - V1 - The skills of mentoring are very much about working with individuals and employing sensitivity to their particular needs and situation. (V1)
