Content Development Workshop

WHAT STAFF NEED(S) WILL THE WORKSHOP MEET?

  • Help! I have to transfer my classroom presentations into blended learning!
  • I know I cant just post my existing powerpoints online, but what changes do I need to make?
  • What tools could I use to get students doing more than just reading powerpoints online?

THROUGH THIS YOU WILL …

Plan the conversion of an online presentation session into a blend of online material and classroom activity. Actively work with an example powerpoint to plan the conversion to appropriate online material. The optional workshop will give you the chance to do the same with your own material and to go away with plans you can use in your teaching.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS ALIGNED WITH THE UKPSF:

MAIN AREA OF ACTIVITY: A1 - Structuring online content in ways that will make sense to students, bringing in the additional spoken word that would normally accompany the powerpoint slides.

KEY CORE KNOWLEDGE: K3, K4  - You will learn what works and doesn’t work online, in terms of what the technology can/cannot do and how people learn.

PROFESSIONAL VALUES: V2  - You will learn how to ensure that your online material is structured in a way that makes the subject content explicit and accessible to all your students.
